Love Letters

In the era of new technology, where emails and text messages are now commonly used as a means of communication, I wonder if there are still people out there who writes love letters to their loved ones. Not just ordinary love letters but beautifully composed love letters.

You see ten years ago, my husband and I used to exchange love letters often. Because both of us didn't have the priveledge of owning a cellphone at that time, we didn't really had the chance to communicate as often as we would have wanted to. So for everytime we wanted to share a thought or two to each other, we would write it in a letter. Then whenever we get the chance to see each other, we would trade letters and read them together. It was such a joy reading his letters.

Ten years after, because of emails, messengers and sms, although we no longer exchange letters as often as before, but we still leave little notes for each other. And every occasion, we always still, as like before when we were still not married, we exchange greeting cards for every birthday, anniversary, valentines and christmas.

I believe that making love letters or little notes for your loved ones strengthens your love for each other. No matter how many times in a day you profess your love, there is still magic when you read it in a letter. Besides, a letter can be kept for years and years to come. I have a tin can filled with my husband's letters and whenever I read them again, I fall in love with my husband all over again. I don't know what it is, but I guess there are just some things which you cannot express by saying out loud, which you can express beautifully and magically when you write it in a letter.

Just this morning, my husband left for work early and left his medicine at home. Good thing his officemate is living in the same building we do, so I asked his officemate to give the medicine to my husband. Inside the package I sent was a little note for my husband. In the note, I gave directions on when to take the medicine and then giving him some love....just a little note but I know it made a difference to my husband already.

So try this atleast once a week, make a love letter for your loved ones, or leave them a love note. Remember, love letters are not for highschool crushes or for puppy love only, it also spices up marriage life. Believe me, it will make your wife/husband feel extra special and more loved.

Spread the love people!
