Serenade your Spouse

 http://www.colinaresphotography.com/v2/

There is this line from William Shakespeare that says, "If music be the food of love, play on." Like Shakespeare, I too believe that music plays an important role in every relationship. I don't why but there really are songs that has magic woven into the lyrics and the melody.

Have you ever tried to serenade your spouse? My husband did! In fact, singing was his way of courting me (see how effective this love technique is?). I could very well remember the night we became officially a couple. Under the moonlit sky, he sang me three beautiful love songs. It was very romantic, believe me, my husband doesn't possess a perfect singing voice but he can carry a tune. But not considering the voice, the gesture itself is very touching and romantic. Of course, I was completely blown away by his love technique. I will always treasure that night for the rest of my life.

Cook for Love

 http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaptainkobold

For those who doesn't know how whip something in the kitchen, don't worry, this writer is not a spectacular chef nor a brilliant cook. For some, I too am a beginner, still learning the ropes in the kitchen. Let's just say that I can bake well than cook well.

Anyway, there is this old saying that goes, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.". This line goes to show that food can indeed play a great role in a relationship. That food can also be used a love technique. In fact, ladies love it when their men give them a box of chocolates. Even in weddings, the wedding cake symbolizes the sweetness of the couple.

God in the Center

For me, this is the most powerful and effective among all the love techniques out there - Putting God in the center of your marriage.

Then you would ask, "How will we put God in the center of our marriage?". The answer to that is very simple, just allow God to be part of your marriage.

Have I told you that I consider my husband as my answered prayer? He is a true manifestation that God really listens and answers our prayers and because of that I will be forever grateful. You see years ago, back when my husband and I were just mere acquaintances, I've asked the Lord to give me a lifetime partner who will love me, take care of me and someone who will lead me closer to Him. Praying is one of my many love techniques.

Cuddle Time

Another of my love technique is Cuddle Time. Cuddle is defined by Wiktionary  as a snuggle; an affectionate embrace, often used in conjunction with family members and close friends; To embrace affectionately, lie together snugly; To cradle in one's arms so as to give comfort, warmth.

Cuddle time is different from going out on a weekly date. You can go out on dates at least once a week, but cuddle time has to be done everyday. Yes, this love technique has to be done everyday! Every free time you got, cuddle your husband or your wife.

Don't ask me when in the day. You can do this love technique every time you want in a day.

Dress up and Look good

http://www.flickr.com/photos/rachelsian

This became my love technique because one time, while my husband and I went out, he commented that I always dress up whenever I go to work or whenever we go out with our friends but never when we go out on dates. When he told me that, I realized that my husband wanted me to look good when we're together, especially if its just the two of us.

So after that, I made extra effort to look good for him whenever we go out together or even when we're just staying at home. I made sure that when my husband comes home, I look great even in shorts and halter tops or shirts. I also take time to put on some lotion, cologne so that I will smell good for him.

Weekly Dates

http://www.flickr.com/photos/throughmyeyes/

Oh I know what you're thinking right now, going out on dates can be pretty expensive. But remember guys, you have the choice on where to go or what to do on your date. It doesn't have to be expensive. You don't need to book for months in advance to dine in a fancy restaurant. Although that doesn't sound bad if you're celebrating something special like birthdays or anniversaries. But for weekly dates, just go easy on the wallet.

I believe that dating doesn't have to be expensive. And because it doesn't have to expensive, we can go out on dates anytime we want. My husband and I have made an agreement even before we got married that once a week we would go out for a date. Just the two of us. We usually schedule our dates on Sundays because he doesn't have work. But for those who have kids, Sundays are for families. Give your Sunday to your kids and families. Just set a schedule where you and your husband or wife can go out on a date alone.

Love Letters

In the era of new technology, where emails and text messages are now commonly used as a means of communication, I wonder if there are still people out there who writes love letters to their loved ones. Not just ordinary love letters but beautifully composed love letters.

You see ten years ago, my husband and I used to exchange love letters often. Because both of us didn't have the priveledge of owning a cellphone at that time, we didn't really had the chance to communicate as often as we would have wanted to. So for everytime we wanted to share a thought or two to each other, we would write it in a letter. Then whenever we get the chance to see each other, we would trade letters and read them together. It was such a joy reading his letters.

Ten years after, because of emails, messengers and sms, although we no longer exchange letters as often as before, but we still leave little notes for each other. And every occasion, we always still, as like before when we were still not married, we exchange greeting cards for every birthday, anniversary, valentines and christmas.
